Exhibits

For more than 50 years, the Littleton Museum has created exhibits, events, and programs that provide immersive experiences in history, art, and culture. As a popular destination for both residents and tourists, the museum offers visitors a unique link between the past and the present.

The outdoor exhibits encompass 40 acres and include two living history farms and twenty-five historic buildings where visitors learn about the evolution of daily life along the front range from its early settlement to the establishment of the City of Littleton. On the 1860s and 1890s living history farms visitors can immerse themselves while historic interpreters dressed in period-appropriate costume perform the day-to-day activities essential to 19th-century farm life, explaining the historic trades and skills. In addition to providing visitor education, these skilled staff maintain gardens, fields, and livestock on both farms.

Inside the museum are galleries that feature exhibits ranging from regional history to art and culture worldwide. The museum staff produce exhibits that display objects from the Littleton Museum's collection of over 60,000 objects, as well as artifacts from other museums and cultural institutions. Exhibits are also loaned from reputable museums and exhibition companies, such as the Smithsonian Institution and the Mid-America Arts Alliance. Contemporary art exhibits at the museum present the work of established local artists and groups working in all media, addressing a variety of thought-provoking subject matters. There is truly something for everyone in the museum’s indoor and outdoor offerings.
